Meet Jimmy Romero — The Man Behind Open Water Electronics

My name is Jimmy Romero and I have been working in the marine electronics industry for over 30 years. Throughout my career I have held roles in sales, sales management, service, service management, and project management across South Florida.

I am NMEA and NMEA 2000 certified and have hands-on experience with leading brands including Garmin, Raymarine, Furuno, Simrad, and KVH. I am also fluent in both English and Spanish, which allows me to serve a broader community of boaters and captains throughout South Florida and beyond.

I created Open Water Electronics to share my expertise and help fellow boaters make informed decisions when it comes to their electronics — from chartplotters and radar to satellite systems, VHF radios, and marine audio.
